We encourage shopping small business and handmade. This holiday season I am focusing on purchasing gifts that are handmade from small businesses for friends and family. Great places to find these items are your local holiday fairs. I am participating in 3 this year. Two Patchwork Shows and then my local Craft fair. At these events you will find great items that are handmade from small business owners. Bigger Soap Bunny

Happy Afternoon!~ After receiving a request for a larger bunny soap I made one. I love him he's so cute and twice the size of the little soap bunnies (but you get two with those)

Each Chocolate scented soap bunny is about 5 inch tall and comes wrapped in a cello bag with our pink ribbon.

Take a look. He is available now on my site www.SoapCafe.com or Etsy

Weekend Soaps

Over the past few weeks I have been increasing production for some events I will be doing this Spring/Summer (more on that to come later) This last weekend I made 2 different soaps. One is a Nakie Bar or Nakid bar that contains no frangrance and no colorant. Just a natural bar of soap with nothing added. This is for my customers who may be sensitive to scents and don't want anything extra.
The second bar is Tropical Lychee. This bar smells fruity and exotic without smelling like a tropical beverage or being heahachy. Next up, a blue bar and I am tring the colum swirl again, hopefully with better results.

Way too Long~

It's been way too long since I posted. Over a year! I must get better. Lately I have been working on CP soap making. This is a different process than soaps I have offered before. These soaps are made from oils and butters. Yesterday I made a Sedona Sunset soap. It smells AMAZING and is very colorful.

These soaps must cure 4-6 weeks before they will be available.

Peppermint Bark Soap

My new favorite is my Peppermint Bark Soap. This little beauty here was inspired by the Crate and Barrel catalog I received a month or so ago. It is a layer of milk chocolate soap and then a layer of white chocolate soap topped with peppermint chunks. It smells so so good. I just used the last of my own piece of peppermint bark. I also have a batch of chocolate mint soap waiting to be added to the site, maybe tonight.
I am looking to add another holiday favorite so let me know what your favorite holiday treat is, you never know I might just have to "bake" you favorite soap treats up!

Tropical Snowflakes

I worked on these snowflakes back in October. I made a few as testers and I scented them with a tropical scent which contains bananas, coconut etc. To me they smell like yummy pina coladas. So I named them Tropical Snowflakes.

They aren't my regular "foodie" soaps but I still like them so. I have them on my site. They are placed in a pretty sliver box & I will be wrapping them with a bow to which isn't pictured.

Soap and other stuff like pregnancy & parties

So being pregnant is no longer fun. I hate getting dressed for work, sun dresses all day everyday would be nice instead of pants, but I usually wear pants to work and I only have one "work type" dress that will fit around this ever expanding middle that umm, well keeps expanding. Maternity cloths are either really dorky and full of flower prints and ruffles or really expensive, like $80 for a shirt expensive. Can there be some middle ground?

On the Soap Cafe front things are really busy lately. I will be adding some new items soon that I am really excited about. Some are old items in new packaging and others are just new.

I have been mulling over baby shower ideas also. Since we don't know if we are having a girl or boy I have been looking for options of both as far as shower themes. I really like the hot pink, orange and brown idea with circle and lines and have found some cute things. I am going to try and make a story board thing up on flicker and see what it looks like. Well off to do that!

1st post

Wow! Valentines is just around the corner. I have been trying to work on some new soaps but orders keep coming in. In the Feb issue of Pregnancy & Newborn, Soap Cafe Bon bon soaps are featured on pg 32. Now I can't say I am in love with the photo but I am glad to be featured. I have no idea how they obtained the bon bons but glad they made it there. Check it out if you have a chance. This friday night I am doing something I have not done in over 2 years. Attend a home party! I am bringing some of my soap sweets to display and sell and hope it goes well.
